Opening on May 6th and running until May 22nd, Playhouse Merced will
showcase it's latest musical treat with Big Fish.
Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed Columbia
Pictures film directed by Tim Burton, BIG FISH centers on Edward Bloom, a
traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest. and then some! Edward's
incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him -except for
his son, Will who sees life as realistically as possible. When Edward
discovers he has cancer and their son Will finds out he is about to have a
child of his own, the two come together again, each wanting to bury their
differences with the little time they have left together. Can Will get to
the bottom of his father's elaborate stories and can Edward finally ignite a
spark of imagination within his son?
Overflowing with heart, humor and stagecraft, BIG FISH is an extraordinary
musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre - for an experience
that's richer, funnier and BIGGER than life itself.
Starring Andrew Burkum as Edward Bloom, Joseph Hypes as Will Bloom, Dianne
Kocher as Sandra Bloom, Rachel Pearre as Josephine, and cast of colorful,
fantastical characters, Big Fish is a perfect show for the family and for
all of us that hold the idea of family and love close to our hearts.
