Covid 19 Policy

COVID Policies for our Beloved Patrons

Playhouse Merced regularly monitors and updates our current policies and procedures regarding our community’s health and safety with Covid-19. The Board of Directors and Staff continue to monitor information from federal, state, and local authorities as the environment and expectations continue to evolve and change. We are committed to keeping our patrons updated with any changes to our practices. These policies apply to the Playhouse Studio, Main Stage, Education, and any other facility operated by Playhouse Merced Center for the Performing Arts.

Currently, we do not require proof of vaccination or a negative test to enter performance spaces. However, masks are strongly encouraged for all patrons and volunteers. Mask use will be supported by Playhouse Merced staff.  Additionally, cast and crew members will continue to test prior to performance weekends and any times of potential exposure affecting cast mates.

Please be sure to review the following precautions prior to your visit:

  • If you have been exposed to or tested positive for COVID-19 within 10 days before your event, please DO NOT attend the show. Contact the box office for an exchange.

  • We ask that you please stay home and contact your class instructor or the box office for a show ticket exchange If you are feeling unwell or have any of the symptoms below:  

    • Fever or chills.

    • Cough.

    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.

    • Fatigue.

    • Muscle or body aches.

    • Headache.

    • New loss of taste or smell.

Playhouse Merced Precautions for Your Health & Safety

  • Hand sanitizing stations are available in our lobby,  education studio,  and entrance areas, sanitizer in all our bathrooms.  Please use them upon entry and during your visit at your own discretion.

  • Sanitization deep cleaning is conducted throughout the building prior to and immediately after each performance with special attention to high-touch surfaces using effective antibacterial and disinfectant sprays and wipes.

  • A pre-show email will be sent to all ticket holders for the upcoming weekend’s shows 5 days prior to every performance to highlight current policies and procedures and provide and other relevant information.

  • By choosing to attend a performance at Playhouse Merced, you are assuming any/all risks related to being exposed to COVID-19 and Playhouse Merced can not/ will not be held responsible.

Playhouse Merced reserves the right to change or alter safety protocols at any time and at our sole discretion to ensure the safety and health of our cast, crew, staff, and patrons, including but not limited to social distancing, vaccines/testing, masks, food service limitations, venue capacity, distancing within the theater seating, and entrance requirements as we deem appropriate.
