They're creepy, they're kooky, mysterious, spooky—and they're coming to the Playhouse Merced Conservatory! The Addams Family Young@Part® is a comical musical that celebrates the wonderfully unique qualities found in every family. The story follows Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, who has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, intelligent young man from a perfectly respectable family. The only problem? He's everything the Addams family isn't. When Wednesday asks her father, Gomez, to keep her romance a secret from Morticia, the stage is set for a hilarious evening of surprises, family chaos, and unforgettable fun as both families gather for one fateful dinner.

 

Specially adapted for youth theatre performers, The Addams Family Young@Part®is the authorized 60-minute edition of the Broadway musical. Carefully crafted through workshops with young performers and theatre professionals, this version features adjusted vocal keys and age-appropriate edits while preserving all the humor, heart, and memorable music of the original production.

 

Students will build confidence, strengthen acting, singing, and movement skills, and experience the excitement of producing a fully staged musical. Throughout the rehearsal process, participants will learn how to audition, receive vocal training, dance lessons, acting instruction, and create lasting friendships while bringing the delightfully spooky world of the Addams Family to life on stage.
